But if that you are unable to deal justly and fairly between your wives then you should only marry one woman. So what would be unfair is if a man married to two or more wives and was favoring one over the other or treating one better than the other.

For example, For a married man, it is better to take a second, third or fourth wife than to involve himself in pornography, take a mistress, visit prostitutes etc. Similarly, it is a better option for women to be Married to a man forever than to be someone’s mistress or girlfriend.
